Sri Lanka Won Bangladesh by 92 runs

MATCH 18: BANGLADESH VS SRI LANKA

Sri Lanka 332/1 (50 Overs)
Bangladesh 240 (47 Overs)

Bangladesh went on a slide losing out the top order early in the chase of 332 against Sri Lanka in the ICC cricket World Cup 2015 match at Melbourne.

The wickets of Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarker and Mominul Haque were within 10 overs. The run flow stemmed further after the amateur run out of Anamaul Haque and the dismissal of Mahmudullah.

Bangladesh lost the wickets of Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarker and Mominul Haque early in the chase of 332 against Sri Lanka in the World Cup match at Melbourne.

Earlier in play, Sri Lanka made 332 on centuries from Tilakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara and an abysmal field performance by Bangladesh.

However, Sri Lanka having lost only a single wicket to post the total would have liked an advantage of about 40 more runs on the scoreboard.

For Bangladesh, the day so far has been heralded with the lone and late dismissal of Lahiru Thirimanne, who should have been out in the first over, and abysmal fielding.

Rubel Hossain claimed Thirimanne’s wicket and got him out at 52 after Anamul Haque dropped him at first slip in the first over and Mushfiqur Rahim missed out on a stumping later.

Kumar Sangakkara was dropped twice, one by Taskin Ahmed at caught and bold attempt and the other by Mominul Haque at point. Chances of run outs were missed on multiple shots.

The pitch, where Bangladesh is having their debut, has a little bit of grass and some bare patches which might show some inconsistent bounce. The new ball might be challenging.
